<p>Every decision our district makes should begin with one question:&nbsp;<strong>How will this help our students succeed?</strong></p>

<h2>Students Come First</h2>

<p>Our district has some difficult budget decisions ahead. We need to be responsible with every dollar and look for savings outside the classroom first, while protecting our students and teachers as much as possible.</p>

<h2>Responsible Budget Priorities</h2>

<p>We need safer drop-offs and pickups, enough crossing guards where they're needed, and better supervision of student drivers at the high school. Every student should be able to get to and from school safely.</p>

<h2>Safe Schools, Safe Students</h2>

<p>Our teachers are the people working with our kids every day, and we need to make sure their pay is competitive with similar communities. We also need to listen to what teachers need in the classroom and give them the support to do their jobs well.</p><p>Keeping experienced teachers in Gilroy is good for our schools, and most importantly, it’s good for our students.</p>

<p>Our students succeed when great teachers have the support they need to succeed. Gilroy must be able to attract talented educators and give them reasons to build their careers here.</p>
