My name is Jane Stevens, and I’m running to represent Trustee Area 4 on the Gilroy School Board.

I’m a retired registered nurse, and I spent the last 13 years of my nursing career at the Kaiser clinic here in Gilroy. Before becoming a nurse, I studied business and worked in administrative, legal, and financial roles. Those experiences taught me how to listen, work with people, solve problems, and make difficult decisions when needed.
Giving back has always been important to me. When my daughters were young, I volunteered with Girl Scouts as a leader and Service Unit Manager, and years later I got involved again with my granddaughters. I’ve also been active with the Lions Club and volunteer as a docent at Gilroy Gardens.
So, why am I running for school board?
It’s really pretty simple. I care about the kids in our community, and I care about the future of Gilroy.
I believe our schools can do better, and I want to be part of making that happen. I bring years of life and professional experience, a strong connection to this community, and a willingness to listen and do the work.
Gilroy has been my home for nearly five decades. I would be honored to have the opportunity to give back by serving our students, families, teachers, and community on the Gilroy School Board.
